Chula Vista Mayor Cox Speaks to Eastlake Business Association

On Monday, May 7, Chula Vista Mayor Cox attended the Eastlake Business Association’s weekly meeting as their featured speaker.
This was the first attendance by the Chula Vista mayor at the Association’s weekly meeting, where she described Chula Vista’s current projects and the future and vision of Chula Vista and the Eastlake area.
The 39th mayor from Chula Vista, congratulated the business professionals for their service to the local community and praised the work of the Eastlake Business Association.
She then took the group on a “tour” of the city starting to the Northern part of Chula Vista that borders National City and ending the “tour” to the Eastern part of Chula Vista. In further detail, she described the current projects being developed within the city, and concluded the presentation by praising local and former Eastlake Middle School student Jessica Sanchez.
Prior to her election, Mayor Cox was a local teacher and school principal. She served six years on the Chula Vista Elementary School District Board of Trustees. Mayor Cox received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego, a Master’s of political science from San Diego State University, and a Doctorate in education from the University of Southern California.
Formed in late 2011, the Eastlake Business Association focuses on education, networking, and the success of its members, while improving the lives of the community. Eastlake Business Associaiton offers free presentations, free memberships. Meetings take place from 11:30 to 1:00 PM at Tacos y Tarros at the Otay Ranch Town Center.
