ManTech to Buy MTCSC for $75M
Business News in Chula Vista, Community of Eastlake Wednesday, November 24th, 2010Defense contractor ManTech International (MANT: 39.53 ,0.00 ,0.00%) said Monday it has inked a deal to acquire MTCSC, a provider of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance systems, for $75 million in cash.
Headquartered in Chula Vista, California, with a major presence in Stafford, Virginia, MTCSC is expected to post some $83 million this year in revenue.
The company, which already holds several large contracts with the US Marine Corps, will join ManTech’s systems engineering and advanced technology group.
“We are excited to expand our capabilities and customer footprint with the acquisition of MTCSC,” said ManTech CEO George J. Pederse, who noted that the Marine Corps and MTCSC’s leading program will “continue to get priority funding.”
“This acquisition fits well with ManTech’s long-term strategy of focusing on high-end defense and intelligence technology support,” he said.
ManTech, which makes technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs, said the transaction, subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to close by the end of the year.
The Fairfax, Va-based company plans to fund the deal using existing cash balances
