Stabbing Suspect Sought by CVPD following fight just after 1 a.m. on the 600 block of H Street.

At 0103 hrs CVPD officers responded to the area of 600 “H” Street on a report of subjects asaulting and chasing a woman.

A bystander directed officers to a woman identified as Gena OSBORNE of Chula Vista, who was standing nearby.

When approached by officers OSBORNE was unclear as to what her involvement was in the altercation but she was uninjured. it was later determined that she was the instigator in the original fight.

While on scene another woman who was hiding on the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue flagged down officers asking for assistance. This 19-year old woman told officers that she and her 20-year old boyfriend had been walking to the TACOS EL GORDO restaurant on “H” Street when they were approached by OSBORNE. She said OSBORNE attacked her for no apparent reason leading the 19-year olds boyfriend to push OSBORNE away, then physically restrain OSBORNE.

A group of people saw this and thought the male trying to restrain Osborne was assaulting her.

The four people, 2 males and 2 females, surrounded the victims and challenged the boyfriend to a fight. The boyfriend and girlfriend started walking away southbound on Woodlawn, but the challengers pursued them.

The famle victims boyfriend told her to hide behind a locked gate at 529 Woodlawn and he then got in a fight with one man from the persuing group. That altercation moved southbound and ended up in front of 536 Woodlawn. When the fight ended the 20-year old continued moving south along the fence line at MUELLER Elementary School. At that time he realized that his shirt was wet with blood. He summoned officers who were on the south side of Mueller School, in the 600 block of Colorado Ave. The victim was subsequently transported by ambulance to the UCSD Trauma Center with at least one stab wound to his left torso. He underwent emergency surgery, but is expected to make a full recovery.

The stabber is described as a black, male, adult in his 20s. He fled the area in a vehicle, possibly an Acura or Honda Accord, black in color, along with at least one other male and two female companions.

While being taken into custody, OSBORNE kicked a uniformed officer. She was arrested for assaulting the 19-year old famale victim, as well as the officer. OSBORNE has been booked into Las Colinas Woman’s Detention Facility.

The CVPD is on the lookout for the suspect in the stabbing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call CVPD at 619 691-5151 reference case 10-12408.
