City Hall Offices Closed For Veteran’s Day
Community of Eastlake Friday, November 5th, 2010The City of Chula Vista offices will be closed Thursday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. All city libraries, recreation centers and swimming pools will be closed. The one exception is the Chula Vista Nature Center, which will offer free admission to veterans, current members of the U.S. armed forces, and their families with valid military I.D. on Veterans Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In addition, the Nature Center will hold a “Hawk Talk with Doc Hawk” Nov. 11 from 6-8 p.m. Dr. Leon Powers, aka “Doc Hawk” is a college professor and wildlife biologist and author of A Hawk in the Sun as well as a nature writer for Boy’s Life Magazine. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and free for Nature Center members. The Nature Center is located at the foot of “E” Street off the
I-5 Freeway in Chula Vista.
Although the Police Department’s headquarters building and the Public Works facility will not be open to the public, emergency services will be provided as usual.
Trash and recycling services will be provided as normally scheduled with no delays, and the Household Hazardous Waste facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 10 and Saturday, November 13.
City Hall offices are closed to the public on Fridays but all other offices will re-open for normal business operations on Friday, November 12.
