2011 Veterans Day Closures
City of Chula Vista offices will be closed Friday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day. All city libraries, recreation centers and swimming pools will be closed. The one exception is the Chula Vista Nature Center, which will offer free admission to veterans and current members of the U.S. armed forces with valid military I.D. Military family members will receive 20% off on Veterans Day. Admission is $11 for adults, $8 for seniors and kids 12-17, and $6 for children ages 4-11. The Nature Center is located at the foot of “E” Street off the I-5 Freeway in Chula Vista and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Although the Police Department’s headquarters building and the Public Works facility will not be open to the public, emergency services will be provided as usual.
Trash and recycling services will be provided as normally scheduled with no delays, and the Household Hazardous Waste facility will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9 and Saturday, November 12.
All offices and facilities will resume normal schedules on Monday, November 14.
