The Little League Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, (ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school), to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide. Today, more than 30,000 children participate in more than 900 Challenger Divisions worldwide.
Avalanche 1 Course – SoCal | Adventure, Winter
This 24 hour AIARE Avalanche Level I Course will be taught by Sierra Mountain Center and is an ideal introduction for those new to travel in avalanche terrain.

For the first time ever, the Korean National Team will be traveling to America to compete against our very own Chula Vista Bombers & Baron Baseball teams.
The Chula Vista South Pony Baseball League will be hosting an International Youth Baseball Tournament vs. the Korean National Team.

The Bonita Valley Girls Softball Association is currently conducting its sign-ups for the 2012 spring season. The season will begin on February 11th, 2012. We are very excited to offer over 650 young women the opportunity to play softball at a competitive level, while maintaining the utmost in respect for the game, and each other. Register before December 14th to take advantage of the lower registration rate. Girls from ages 4 to 14 are invited. Girls trying out for high school ball can register and receive a full refund if they make their high school team. Registration will close on January 14, 2012.
Following his gold medal performance in the 100m (T42 category) at the 2011 Parapan American Games, Shaquille Vance was selected as the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center Athlete of the Month. He began training here in February of this year and has already made waves as a Paralympic hopeful. During the Mt. San Antonio College Relays in April 2011, he set a new American record in the T42 200m sprint with a time of just 27.18 seconds.

On Saturday at Southwestern College, the Eastlake Panthers Jr. Pee Wee Blue defeated the Otay Ranch Broncos Blue 22 – 6 for the 2011 “Q” Bowl Championship.
The ground attack was led by the formidable RB tandem of Roman Coe and Clarence Freeman IV.
This year Eastlake’s unbeaten Panther’s Junior Pee Wee Blue team (ages 10 and 11) will face Otay Ranch Blue (10-1) at this year’s Super “Q” Bowl, sponsored by San Diego’s Youth Football & Cheer (SDYFC).
Eastlake Football Chula Vista has reached the C.I.F. playoffs for the 12th year in a row.
Since the football team was fielded, the Eastlake Titans have reached the C.I.F. playoffs in the following years 1994, 1995, 1999, and every subsequent year since 2000. The Titans won the C.I.F in 2009 and were also Mesa League Champions in: 2000,2002, 2004, 2006, 2007. Since 2004, head coach John McFadden, has amassed a total record of: 67-17-3.
Yvette Lewis won the athlete of the month distinction after cleaning up a gold and silver medal at the recent Pan American
Games. First up, she competed in the 100m hurdles. After finishing first in her semi-final heat, she clearly stated “my goal is
to win and get the gold.” And she did that, in just 12.82 seconds.
The Eastlake Titans ran their consecutive win streak over the Otay Ranch Mustangs to 7 games in a row by scoring a 26-7 victory on the Mustangs home field. With the win, Eastlake secured the #2 seed in the CIF Division 1 Playoffs. The Titans concluded the regular season with a record of 7-3.

The US women’s field hockey team, that trains at Eastlake – based Chula Vista Olympic Training Center has produced the biggest shock yet on the road to London 2012, defeating top-ranked Argentina to win the Pan American Games title and book a place at the London Games,
The Titans won this road game at Steele Canyon 25-7 last Friday. The two teams have faced each other five times with Eastlake winning all five. The Titans are now 4-0 on the season.
The Titans hosted the 0-1 Scripps Ranch Falcons on September 9th, 2011 in a non-league contest at Stan Canaris Stadium. Eastlake dominated the Falcons in every category and won in easy fashion 35-0.
State Games of America 2011
The 2011 State Games of America, a property of the National Congress of State Games, is a national multi-sport event, held biennially, for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Medal winners from 45 State Games nationwide earn the right to compete against other winners and match their skills and competitive desire in a national arena.

Boys and Girls ages 4-15 are eligible to play …
- Any 15-year old who will not turn 16 before 4-30-12 (*15 year olds will not be eligible to pitch)
- Any 3-year old who will turn 4 on or before 4-30-12
- Divisions: Tee-Ball, Minor B, Minor A, Majors, and Juniors
- Registration fee: $95.00 for single player; $175.00 for family (2 or more brothers/sisters playing) APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY 8/20 TO ENSURE PLACEMENT ON A TEAM
The City of Chula Vista, in conjunction with the San Diego Sports Commission, USA Triathlon, and Port of San Diego welcome the 2011 USA Triathlon Jr. and Youth National Championships on Saturday, August 6 thru Sunday, August 7.
Parent Orientation is going to be Wednesday July 13 at Eastlake High School’s Gym.

On January 1st, 2001, Eastlake Youth Football and Cheer Association of San Diego, CA was founded to provide Youth Football and Cheer to the eastern Chula Vista area of San Diego county.
After carefully reviewing registration numbers and team assignments the Otay Ranch Football & Cheer have re-opened Registration for Mitey Mite through Midget Teams.
Flag and Cheer remain closed.

Chula Vista City Council Approves Fee Hike For City’s 50 Sports Fields
Parents are mobilizing in Chula Vista after learning the City Council approved fee hikes for the city’s 50 sports fields that some say could threaten the existence of some youth sports teams.
Gonzalez Sports Academy Chula Vista is now offering tennis camps, tennis group lessons, cardio tennis, and private lessons.
GSA is a state of the art multi-training sports facility. The 29,000 sqaare foot community based complex is dedicated to
strength and conditioning, speed and agility, baseball, softball and football skill development, boxing conditioning and volleyball and tennis.

Wrapping up a successful season, Eastlake Little League’s Cubs clinched the Minor A Division by beating the Giants in the Division Finals.
The Cubs came into the playoffs with an overall record of 18-12 and upset the second seeded Pirates and first seeded Yankees to roll through their respective bracket.
