Park View Little League Faces Rematch With San Antonio in US Finals

The Chula Vista, California, Park View Little League Team faces San Antonio, Texas game today at 12:00 Pacific Standard Time in South Williamsport, PA at the 2009 Little League World Series US finals.

The mighty Park View team lost to lost to San Antonio, Texas 6-3 last week, but when they play well, the Park View team from Chula Vista, CA is a virtual juggernaut.   Kiko Garcia, 13, and 5’6” and 142 lbs. is notorious for hitting home runs, and Luke Ramirez, 13, 6’2”, 200 lbs., is also also known for home runs.  The record for the most home runs at a Little League World Series stands currently at 15 by Japan in 2003.  The Park View team currently stands at 14.  As a team, Chula Vista, CA hit 34 homers in 5 games at the western regional’s this summer.

There are several players on the San Antonio, Texas team that have numerous home runs: Kyle Pollard, 13, 5’2” and 106 lbs. Nicholas Smisek, 12, 5’2”, 127 lbs. Steven Cardone, 12, 5’9”, and 142 lbs. and John Shull, 13, 5’3” and 143 lbs.
