State Games of America 2011
The 2011 State Games of America, a property of the National Congress of State Games, is a national multi-sport event, held biennially, for athletes of all ages and skill levels. Boys and Girls ages 4-15 are eligible to play …
- Any 15-year old who will not turn 16 before 4-30-12 (*15 year olds will not be eligible to pitch)
- Any 3-year old who will turn 4 on or before 4-30-12
- Divisions: Tee-Ball, Minor B, Minor A, Majors, and Juniors
- Registration fee: $95.00 for single player; $175.00 for family (2 or more brothers/sisters playing) APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED BY 8/20 TO ENSURE PLACEMENT ON A TEAM

Undefeated and going into their final game of the district tournament, the 9/10 Eastlake Little League beat rival Sweetwater Valley 8-5 to be crowned as District 42 champions.
The team, led by Manager, Doug Holman, got into a hole early from an early Sweetwater Valley homerun, but the team maintained their composure and slowly came back beating the Little League rival from Bonita, California.

Deputy Mayor Rudy Ramirez will host his Public Office Hours at 6:00 pm on Monday July 11, 2011 at the Chula Vista Civic Library, 365 F Street, Chula Vista.
The recently passed budget includes changes to community services programs. This informal meeting with Deputy Mayor Rudy Ramirez is designed to invite discussion on these changes. The new budget includes modification to library services, Park and recreation programs and fee increases for field use.

The City of Chula Vista offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2011 in observance of Independence Day. Closures include all city recreation centers, pools, and libraries.
The Chula Vista Nature Center will be open normal hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, all Chula Vista Public Libraries will be closed July 2, 3 and 4 and will re-open on July 5 for normal hours.

Jack Dale, a member of the San Diego Association of Governments board of directors and a Santee councilman, said the timing of the award was unexpected and as a result, the project timetable could be moved up.
