Chula Vista First Local City To Adopt Climate Plan

Recently, the City of Chula Vista became the first local government in Southern California to adopt a standalone, comprehensive climate adaptation plan. The plan, approved by the Chula Vista City Council, will implement 11 strategies to reduce the community’s vulnerability to climate change.
Local business owner and Resource Conservation Commissioner, Sassan Rahimzadeh, said,  These strategies are the outcome of a consensus building process between many different stakeholder groups. They will really help the City be better prepared for the future and will improve our community’s quality of life in the near term.

Hiker rescue underway in East County

EAST COUNTY — A section of the Cleveland National Forest well-known to advanced mountain bikers seeking gnarly terrain, switchbacks and scenic waterfalls is the site of a hiker rescue.

Cal FIRE confirmed that efforts to retrieve a female hiker with an ankle injury were currently underway in the Noble Canyon area.
