Do you want to get rid of that old computer or television you no longer use? Or have you been saving sensitive papers that should be disposed of but not sure what to do with them?
Then let the Chula Vista Environmental Services division help! The City is holding a free electronic waste recycling, document shredding, and a special computer presentation event on Saturday, March 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Simply bring your items to the Chula Vista Center parking lot, 555 Broadway, (enter at I Street and Fifth Avenue) and follow the cones for drop off. Chula Vista residents can safely drop off up to four “banker” boxes of documents for shredding. Please make sure the documents are clean with no plastic bags, CD’s, floppy disks, metal clips or binders.
You can also recycle old and unwanted electronics such as televisions, monitors, computers, laptops, radios, camcorders, DVD/VHS players and other household electronics. Computers 2 San Diego Kids, a 501(c)(3), will be presenting ten computer systems along with programming and technical support to pre-selected low-income Chula Vista families at 11 am.
