The Bonita Valley Girls Softball Association is currently conducting its sign-ups for the 2012 spring season. The season will begin on February 11th, 2012. We are very excited to offer over 650 young women the opportunity to play softball at a competitive level, while maintaining the utmost in respect for the game, and each other. Register before December 14th to take advantage of the lower registration rate. Girls from ages 4 to 14 are invited. Girls trying out for high school ball can register and receive a full refund if they make their high school team. Registration will close on January 14, 2012.

Following his gold medal performance in the 100m (T42 category) at the 2011 Parapan American Games, Shaquille Vance was selected as the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center Athlete of the Month. He began training here in February of this year and has already made waves as a Paralympic hopeful. During the Mt. San Antonio College Relays in April 2011, he set a new American record in the T42 200m sprint with a time of just 27.18 seconds.

Store owners offer deeply discounted shipping and materials in exchange for cold weather donations
San Diego, CA — November 30, 2011 — Two local The UPS Store owners are serving an extra dose of holiday merriment at their five locations while helping to ensure the area’s most destitute individuals and families are kept warm during the region’s coldest season. Now through December 25, 2011, customers who bring in a new or gently used cold weather apparel item, including beanies, socks, gloves and scarves, can benefit from having their shipments expertly packed and save 25 percent off packaging and discounts on Air shipping. The wares will be distributed via winter survival backpacks to displaced San Diegans by Girls Think Tank (GTT), a nonprofit that empowers the community to advance basic dignity through advocacy and activism.
