Two Camps Scheduled at The Olympic Training Center

The Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista will be the site of two summer camps organized by the Chula Vista Recreation Department this month. Registration is now open for a soccer camp for kids and a sports camp for disabled children.

The week-long soccer camp from June 18-22 is geared for kids ages 7 to 16. Athletes and coaches of the Paralympic Soccer National Team will work with players on technical and tactical skills for the individual and the team. Camp hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fee for the camp is $150 for residents ($188 for non-residents) and includes a t-shirt and a box lunch. Register online at www.chulavistaca.gov/rec. An Adaptive Sports camp is scheduled June 25-29 for kids ages 7 to 16. Led by Paralympic athletes at the Olympic Training Center, this program is geared toward children with physical disabilities. Youth athletes will have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of sports at the actual training venue of many Olympians and Paralympians who will compete in London this summer.Camp hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fee is $150 for residents ($188 for non-residents) and includes a t-shirt and a box lunch. The Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, located at 2800 Olympic Parkway, is an official U.S. Olympic Committee training facility dedicated to the development of America’s current and future Olympic athletes. Featured sports include archery, rowing, canoe/kayak, soccer, softball, field hockey, tennis, track and field, and cycling.
