Third suspect in murder of 21-year old taken into custody.
Community of Eastlake, Eastlake News, Police Blotter Tuesday, October 19th, 2010The third suspect in the murder of 21-year old Joseph Barrs has been taken into custody.
This morning 19-year old Victor Castro of Chula Vista was accompanied to the CVPD by his lawyer where he turned himself in.
Castro was booked and transported to San Diego county jail.
Castro, along with two other suspects, has been charged with Barr’s murder.
18-year old Anthony Talavera of Chula Vista was arrested October 13th. Bonita resident and student Uriel Alejandro Sanchez, 20 years of age, was taken into custody Monday, October 11th.
Joseph Barrs was killed in the early morning hours of 10/10/2010. The incident began as a verbal dispute between persons attending a house party in the 400 Block of Krista Court in Chula Vista.
A fight erupted in the street outside the house with several witnesses observing the altercation.
Chula Vista Police were called to the scene and found the 21-year-old victim on the ground and unresponsive; he was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Chula Vista Police Department would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed events related to this case.
