Battle of the Bands at Terra Nova Plaza

Every Thursday evening in July, property management and development firm NewMark Merrill Companies will host a Battle of the Bands competition at Terra Nova Plaza in which local bands will perform live.

Performances will begin at 7 p.m. Local radio station 94.9 will be present each week with giveaways. The station will present a large gift basket to the winner. The first place band will also receive a cash prize in the amount of $750. The runner-up band will receive $500, and the third place band will get $250.

Radio personality Tim Pyles will judge the bands along with local musician Terry Matsuoka and local music enthusiast Sonia DeLeon.

The event will feature a free kids craft, which will vary each week, as well as coupons, giveaways and raffles from the Terra Nova Plaza merchants. In addition, South Bay YMCA will have an information booth at each Battle of the Bands event with literature about their facility and services.
