EastLake Church is inviting couples to rehab starting on February 12 and 13, when the church will kick off a five week teaching series called “Relationship Rehab”. The series will focus on identifying the common obstacles that stand in the way of healthy relationships and address the specific steps that can be taken to move from dysfunction to health.
“Although many couples understand that their relationships are in trouble, they are often unable or unwilling to take the steps necessary to move forward in a healthy way,” said Mike Meeks, lead pastor at EastLake Church. “In many cases, they cling more strongly to the patterns and behaviors that led to the problems than they do to their marriages.”
The series begins on the weekend of February 12 and 13 and will address issues such as communication, conflict, and sexual issues, all from a Biblical perspective. Says Pastor Meeks, “People sometimes feel that the Bible doesn?t have anything practical to
say about relationship issues, but nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible actually speaks very clearly and practically about the key elements that define healthy relationships.”
With a weekly attendance of over 5,500, EastLake Church offers four services each weekend at its Chula Vista campus and one weekend service in Imperial Beach. The church also offers two services online every Sunday. Featuring a live – and loud – rock
band and a service that lasts just about one hour, the church promises a “casual atmosphere, serious faith, and no weird stuff”.
