NFL Player Hosts Youth Football Camp To Benefit Local Autism

San Diego native, Stanley Daniels II, offensive guard for the Cleveland Browns, is set to host his 2nd Annual youth Football Camp, SD Football Camp. The Stanley Daniels’ Football Camp/ SD Football Camp will take place July 12th- July 14th, 2012, at his alma mater, Mater Dei High School, in Chula Vista. A portion of the proceeds will benefit a local Autism Charity, Re Spectrum.

Daniels’, NFL friends will be joining the camp. Camp attendees will have the opportunity to work with and meet pro bowlers and super bowl champs. On Sunday July 15th, 2012, SD Football Camp will be hosting a Free Day for kids 10 and under. This is a chance for the community to come out and meet the players. This year, the camp has teamed up with a local Autism Non Profit group, Re Spectrum. Re Spectrum Community is dedicated to achieving social justice, by way of ReAbling a community of people that may have been rendered disabled, disordered, disconnected or disassociated from their larger communities because of a label or due to a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Autism Autism Awareness is something that is very important to Daniels, as he has a son who is autistic.

During the 3 day camp, there will be a focus on techniques, teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance and excellence. Additionally, camp attendees will hear from motivational speakers from the community. Players will learn various football techniques that can be applied both on and off the field. Also, during the camp, Daniels will share with the players his unique road to the NFL which really illustrates the power of a dream and hard work. Daniels, was undrafted out of college and fought his way into the NFL. As Daniels always says, ”Hard work beats talent every day!” As previously stated a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Re Spectrum.

The goal of SD Football Camp is to provide a safe, fun, affordable, summer activity for kids, while giving back to the community. In addition to coaching young football enthusiasts on the field, we will also give the camp attendees life advice to use off the field. SD Football Camp wants to instill the youth with the importance of a goal and dream, and show them hard work and tenacity do payoff.
