Eastlake Little League Introduces the Padres at Petco Park

Twenty Two Eastlake Little League players from Eastlake Little Leauge in Chula Vista woke up before dawn on Thursday, April 5, to help the San Diego Padres with their opening day ceremonies.
When they arrived at Petco Park, the players, ranging from T-Ball to Majors, were greeted by Kerri Lane, a reporter from KUSI Channel 9 TV San Diego.
With a giant smile, and warm greeting, Kerri greeted each little league player, wrote down their names and when the cameras went live, she introduced each player on camera as part of the network’s Good Morning San Diego segment.
After the brief introductions, the Little Leaguers, split into two teams and played a game of Whiffle Ball at the ‘Park at the Park’ in Petco Park.
This season, nearly 50 leagues in San Diego County are now benefiting from the Padres’ Youth Baseball Initiative, which is a community partnership that will provide more than 11,600 local Little Leaguers with authentic, custom-made Majestic jerseys from throughout Padres history, as well as corresponding caps.
Thank you ELL, Kerri Lane, and The San Diego Padre Organization for such a great day and the memories to follow.
