6th Annual Snores & Smores

More than 300 people will be pitching tents, roasting marshmallows, watching movies and playing games Friday, June 8, during an overnight campout at Montevalle Park. The sixth annual Snores & Smores, an event hosted by the City of Chula Vista’s Recreation Department, is focused on families and includes a campfire style dinner and a continental breakfast.

Families will be pitching their tents on the spacious field close to the recreation center and sleeping under the stars! Kids won?t be bored; activities include arts and crafts, games, a marshmallow roast and movies on a giant screen. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and ends Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

This is about the community getting together as a family and enjoying the park,? said Buck Martin, the City’s recreation director. ?The campout is a memorable event for kids and adults, and it’s a bargain at $7 per person.

Children two and younger get in free.?
The 29-acre Montevalle Park, located at 840 Duncan Road, serves the communities of EastLake, San Miguel Ranch and Rolling Hills Ranch. In addition to the recreation center, the park features lighted sports fields and basketball courts, walking trails, a dog park and an area set aside for skateboarding.
